A reservoir on the Gilówka

The reservoir in Jarocin lies in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, in the Nisko district, north-east of the town of Nisko. The water was dammed on the small Gilówka river and the banks were developed as a municipal recreation area. The lake is small in scale, framed by greenery and easy to reach from the village; walking right around it takes very little time.

Beach and facilities

The shore has a sandy beach with a bathing area, shelters, fire pits, a playground and sports pitches, plus food outlets open in season. A wooden pier reaching out over the surface is the most distinctive feature. Water equipment can be hired, so besides swimming you can set out by canoe or pedalo.

Events and surroundings

An open-air stage stands beside the reservoir and hosts free concerts, fetes and municipal events, most of them during the summer holidays. Around it stretches the typical landscape of the Sandomierz Basin: pine woods, quiet roads and small villages in the San valley.
