ul. Żarecka, Wieś Poraj
Zalew Porajski was formed by damming the waters of the Warta river at Poraj, in the Silesian-Kraków Upland, Myszków county. It is one of the larger bodies of water in this part of the Silesian province, with an indented shoreline and holiday facilities in the surrounding villages. Poraj itself lies at the southern end of the reservoir.
The reservoir is known for good sailing conditions — the open expanse of water and steady winds attract yachts and boards alike. Centres along the shore rent out water equipment, and there are marinas as well. The reservoir is also a popular fishery, with anglers using the many spots spread along the banks.
Holiday centres cluster mainly in Jastrząb and Masłońskie; the former Częstochowa Steelworks resort „Leśna Radość" also stands by the water. Walking and cycling trails run through the area, leading towards the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura and the city of Częstochowa.
