Via ferrata Czarnorzeki (Korczyna municipality) - facility under construction

Note: as of 2026-06-04 the facility is not yet open - it is under construction. The project's partnership and financial agreements were signed in March 2026; the planned opening of the routes to tourists is around August 2026, with project completion by the end of November 2026. This entry is informational, about an attraction being created.

Location and surroundings

The routes are being built on the Czarnorzeki crags in the area of the Marcinek Gorge (Sokolec Rock / Leśna Turnia and Garaż Rock), near the village of Czarnorzeki in the Korczyna municipality, Krosno County in the Subcarpathia region. The region is famous for the Prządki nature reserve and the ruins of Kamieniec Castle.

Offer / planned course

The project envisages building two via ferratas of varying difficulty: Via Ferrata A on Sokolec Rock (Leśna Turnia) and Via Ferrata B on Garaż Rock. The routes will be secured with steel cables. A tourist path (approx. 300-350 m) is also being created, bypassing the steepest sections, for those choosing easier variants.

Who it is for

According to the project's assumptions, the facility will be intended, among others, for children and youth - sets of equipment (helmet, harness, lanyard) have been ordered, including six sets for children and youth. It will be the first via ferrata in Subcarpathia.

Infrastructure

The project is being carried out as a cross-border one ("Na jednej linie - development of a cross-border climbing trail") under the Interreg Poland-Slovakia 2021-2027 programme, with a partner from Slovakia and co-financing from the Carpathian Euroregion Association.
