Sucha, Leśna
Jezioro Leśniańskie is an artificial lake in the Leśna commune in Lower Silesia, created by damming the river Kwisa. It works as a retention reservoir and powers a hydroelectric plant. The narrow, winding basin cuts into forested slopes, so the shoreline is strongly indented and full of small bays.
Its popular nickname comes from the two strongholds towering above the water: Czocha Castle and Rajsko Castle. Czocha, with its distinctive cylindrical tower, is open to visitors and is the strongest attraction in the area. The view of it from the lake surface or from the shore is among the best known in the Izera Foothills.
The most popular spot is Czocha beach, with a water equipment rental and beach volleyball courts, adjoining a Natura 2000 site. Beyond it, wild beaches and smaller bathing areas stretch along the shores. Anglers catch crucian carp, zander, eel, catfish and perch here.
