A karst lake in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District

Jezioro Sumin lies in the Urszulin commune of Włodawa County, beside the village of the same name and close to Poleski National Park. It is a karst, eutrophic body of water — broad but shallow, so it warms up quickly and cools down just as fast.

Bathing and recreation

The lake has a single beach with jetties for bathers and anglers, and in season lifeguards watch over swimming. A fire pit and a barbecue spot stand by the beach. The rest of the shoreline is hard to reach — it is ringed by wet forest, peat bogs and reed beds, and the bottom stays muddy and soft.

Good to know

Tourist facilities are modest: apart from holiday cottages there are no resorts, and catering is limited to seasonal food trucks. This is a place for those who value quiet and the closeness of Polesie nature, and it is popular with anglers.
