A lake among Kashubian forests

Jezioro Czarne lies by the village of Niesiołowice in Kashubia, in the Kartuzy district. It is regarded as one of the best stocked fishing grounds in the region, which is why anglers come here above all. The setting is intimate: forest reaches close to the shores and tourist traffic is noticeably lighter than at the larger Kashubian lakes.

Stone circles

Niesiołowice lies on the stone circles trail — remains of Gothic settlement. Similar structures and a barrow cemetery are found in the nearby forest and by Jezioro Długie, a few kilometres away. Another complex of barrows can be seen in the Uniradze forest district.

The area

A bathing area with water equipment and bicycle rental operates in Sulęczyno, about eight kilometres away. The surrounding forests are rich in mushrooms and crossed by hiking and cycling trails. For a longer trip, add the Goths' Stronghold with archery and the Teutonic castle in Bytów.
