A reservoir in the heart of Subcarpathian forests

The Ożanna Reservoir lies in the village of Ożanna, in the Kuryłówka commune, Leżajsk county, in the Subcarpathian region. Extensive forests surround the artificial lake, sheltering it from wind and muffling noise, so the shores keep an intimate feel even at the height of the season. It is one of the most visited bodies of water in the area, drawing both residents of nearby villages and travellers looking for a quiet stop away from large resorts.

Relaxing by the water

Campsites, holiday centres and food outlets operate around the reservoir, so the facilities are sufficient for a longer stay. The bathing area is unguarded and the water can be murky and silty, which is worth keeping in mind when travelling with children. The lake works well, however, as a base for shoreline walks, angling and unhurried rest.

The surroundings

Ożanna also holds a sporting curiosity: the village was the birthplace of Moe Drabowsky, later an American baseball player. Around it stretches a landscape typical of this part of Subcarpathia — pine woods cut through by forest roads, convenient for walking and cycling trips.
