Via ferrata Marcinek Gorge (Czarnorzeki) - under construction/in planning

In the Korczyna municipality in Subcarpathia, in the area of the Marcinek Gorge near Czarnorzeki, a project is underway to build two via ferrata routes (marked A and B) together with a tourist path. The investment is being created as part of the cross-border project "Na jednej linie - Development of a cross-border climbing trail" (Interreg Poland-Slovakia 2021-2027). NOTE: at the time the data was collected, the facility was in the planning/construction phase - opening planned for the 2025/2026 season.

Location and surroundings

The routes are to be built in the area of the Marcinek Gorge - a group of sandstone rocks on the slope descending from Prządki to the valley of the Marcinek stream, within the existing climbing sector, in the Czarnorzeki-Strzyżów Landscape Park. Via ferrata A is planned beneath Sokolec Rock (Leśna Turnia), and via ferrata B by Garaż Rock.

Offer / What to see

Two via ferrata routes are planned, with a total length of approx. 200-250 m and varying levels of difficulty - from sections for beginners to intermediate - as well as a tourist path (approx. 300-350 m) bypassing the steepest fragments of the slope.

Who it is for

The routes are designed for beginners and intermediate participants; the project also plans climbing equipment (including sets for children and youth) as well as Polish-Slovak climbing events ("Young Climber's Academy").

Infrastructure

The project includes marking out the routes in the existing Marcinek Gorge climbing sector and a tourist path. Details of accompanying infrastructure (car park, signage) depend on the final implementation.
