A post-mining lake in the heart of Konin

Lake Zatorze lies within Konin, next to other reservoirs created after lignite mining, such as Czarna Woda and Lake Turkusowe. It shares its name with the city's largest housing estate. Of the whole group, only here has a bathing area been designated — swimming is banned in the remaining lakes.

Recreation and sport

A loop of about five kilometres runs around the lake and is used by runners and walkers; timed runs are held on it regularly. The Gallery by the Lake operates on the shore, and a swimming pool, pitches and tennis courts are close by. Fairs and open-air events take place on the beach.

Who it suits

It is a good stop for travellers looking for a rest without leaving the city: the approach from Paderewskiego Street is short and the ground is flat and pushchair-friendly. A visit combines easily with sightseeing in Konin, whose old town and famous Romanesque road pillar lie a few kilometres away.
