A Kashubian lake near Czarna Dąbrówka

Lake Karwno lies in Kashubia, in the Czarna Dąbrówka commune in the Bytów county, some four hundred metres from the village of the same name. It is a small, quiet lake with clean water, neighbouring the larger Karwno Duże. The eastern shore is open to visitors.

Angling and nature

The lake is rich in pike, bream, perch and eel, but it is leased — fishing requires a permit. It is also a refuge for water birds, so it is worth keeping quiet along the shore. With no recreational development, the place suits above all a secluded rest and nature watching.

The area

The Czarna Dąbrówka commune is crossed by walking and cycling trails and nature paths, including the “Karwno Wilderness” and “Five Lakes” routes. In the village you can see a filial church, an old forester's lodge and a farm with an ostrich breeding.

Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: Year-round, easiest access from spring to autumn
