An artificial lake in the heart of Poznań

Lake Malta is an artificial reservoir on the right bank of the Warta, about two kilometres from Poznań's Old Market Square. It was created as a sports venue and is best known for its regatta course, which has hosted world championships in rowing and canoeing. For local people it is above all a place of everyday recreation.

Attractions along the shore

The southern bank is occupied by a leisure complex: a year-round ski slope, a toboggan run, a small railway, minigolf, a playground, a picnic area and an open-air cinema. On the northern bank stand the Malta Thermal Baths with pools, saunas and a water park section, alongside restaurants and an outdoor bowling alley. A campsite operates nearby.

A walk around the water

Circling the lake on the paved promenade takes about an hour; the route is flat, wheelchair accessible and popular with runners and skaters. Benches and viewpoints overlooking the regatta course line the banks.
