ul. Orla, Wałcz
Castle Lake (Jezioro Zamkowe) lies in Wałcz, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It has an elongated shape and an even shoreline, and its northern part cuts into the built-up area, so the water can be reached on foot from the centre. It is the town's closest recreational lake.
The Polish Angling Association manages the lake and stocks it regularly; pike, bream, carp, tench and eel are caught here. A sailing marina operates on the northern shore, and a beach with a bathing area has been arranged by the water. A walk along the bank takes little time.
The name refers to a stronghold said to have stood on the headland reaching into the town. The exact location of the castle has never been confirmed and remains a matter of conjecture. Wałcz is also known as a sports centre — the Central Sports Centre operates by the neighbouring Lake Raduń.
