Wieś Czajkowa
The Krasiczyn Ponds lie near the village of Czajkowa in Mielec County, not far from Baranów Sandomierski. They form a group of water bodies surrounded by woodland, reached by forest roads and paths. The place is quiet and little frequented, promoted mainly as a destination for Sunday walks.
The surrounding forests and water surfaces are feeding grounds for birds of prey — with a little luck you may spot a lesser spotted eagle or a kestrel. Because of the plant and animal species occurring here, giving the area the status of a nature reserve has been considered. For now the ponds remain a recreational site.
In the neighbouring Padew Narodowa commune lie the similar Osieczyska Ponds, easily combined into a single walking or cycling route. Baranów Sandomierski with its Renaissance castle is close by, so time at the water can be paired with sightseeing.
