Jezioro Wolsztyńskie lies in the Poznań Lake District, right inside the town of Wolsztyn in Greater Poland. It is a flow-through lake - the river Dojca runs through its basin. On the water sits Tumidaj Island, covering about 1.3 hectares. The shores are easy to reach from the town and are lined with park avenues.
Designated bathing areas have been marked out on the lake, including the one in the Municipal Park, alongside areas under nature protection: the Chorzemin Bog and the Dojca floodplain. The boggy stretches of shore are a refuge for water birds, so part of the area stays closed to visitors.
On the shore stands the Open-Air Museum of Folk Architecture of Western Greater Poland, with cottages and farm buildings of the region. Wolsztyn itself is famous for its working steam locomotive depot, one of the last in Europe to run scheduled trains, so a lakeside walk pairs easily with sightseeing in town.
