Grzmięca, Wieś Gaj-Grzmięca
Zbiczno Lake lies in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province, in the Zbiczno commune, in the heart of the Brodnica Lakeland. It is surrounded by forests that in places reach the very shoreline, which keeps the banks quiet and lightly built up. It is one of the larger bodies of water in the area of the Brodnica Landscape Park.
The lake is of the vendace type — the water is deep, cool and relatively clear. Several spots adapted for bathing have been marked out along the shores. Accommodation and recreation are provided by the holiday centres „Pod Sosnami” and „Rytebłota”, which operate mainly in the summer season.
The lake has a reputation as one of the better fishing grounds in the region. Vendace, roach and bream are caught here, and pike turn up as well. The quiet, wooded shores and the dense network of nearby lakes encourage longer stays combined with canoe trips or cycling across the Brodnica Lakeland.
