A town lake on the edge of Brodnica

Lake Niskie Brodno lies within the boundaries of Brodnica, in the Brodnica Lake District in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province. It is the last body of water in the chain of the Struga Brodnicka stream, which flows into the Drwęca river just beyond the town. Its closeness to the centre makes the lake a municipal recreation ground — the walk from the built-up area takes about a quarter of an hour.

Beach and water sports

The Municipal Beach with its recreational facilities was laid out on the southern shore, and next to it the Brodnica Sailing Club „Wodnik” runs a water equipment rental. You can set out by kayak, pedal boat or dinghy; the lake is large enough to leave room both for those resting on the shore and for sailors.

Angling and the surroundings

Fishing is permitted here, and the most common catches are roach, perch, tench and pike. The lake often serves as a starting point for trips along the Struga Brodnicka and for excursions into the Brodnica Landscape Park, which stretches north of the town.
