An oxbow lake in the Załęcze Bend of the Warta

Wronia Woda is an ecological protection site of 21.43 hectares near the village of Bobrowniki in the Łódź Voivodeship. Protection covers a cut-off meander of the Warta — an oxbow lake with open water, reed beds and riparian thickets. Beside it lies a second river bend, still part of the active channel, known as the Jastrzębie meander.

Landscape and views

The greatest assets of the place are silence and the view from the valley slope at whose foot the oxbow lies. From here a panorama opens over the water, the reed beds and the riverside woods of the Załęcze Bend of the Warta — one of the most scenic stretches of the river valley.

Birds

The oxbow is a habitat for many water birds, among them coot and goosander, while the mute swan breeds here. Early morning in spring and autumn is the best time to watch; binoculars and waterproof footwear are worth bringing.
