A lake in the heart of the Brodnica Lakeland

Jezioro Strażym lies in the Zbiczno municipality in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province, within the Brodnica Lakeland. It is a post-glacial, flow-through ribbon lake, part of a chain of lakes linked by short narrows and streams. Coniferous forests surround the banks, reaching close to the water and giving the area an intimate, restful character.

What to see

The narrow, elongated basin looks best from the water — the kayaking route through the Brodnica Lakeland is one of the popular trails in this part of Poland. A holiday centre called „Na Wzgórzu” stands on a rise above the lake, and forest tracks and paths suitable for walking or cycling run around the shore.

Who it suits

The place will appeal above all to anglers and water tourists. The lake holds roach, bream, pike, perch, tench, white bream, rudd and eel, among others. Families will find quiet spots for a rest by the water, sheltered by the forest.
