A reservoir on the edge of Lubliniec

Zalew Droniowicki is an artificial reservoir on the Lublinica river, within the town of Lubliniec in Upper Silesia. It was created as a recreational spot, yet its banks remain largely natural and only partly developed. The setting consists of wet meadows and the forest complexes bordering the town, typical of this part of the region.

Walking and rest

On the Stawowa street side there is a playground and benches facing the water. Most of the shoreline is overgrown with wetland vegetation, mainly sweet flag and reeds, so direct access to the water is limited to a few points. This is a destination for a quiet stroll rather than for sunbathing.

Good to know

A local legend of a ghost haunting an abandoned building has been linked to the reservoir since the 1980s. Lubliniec itself offers a few other targets for a short stop, and the vast Lubliniec forests and the Mała Panew valley are close by.
