Wieś Sygontka
Stawy Krasianów is a small, secluded corner of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, in the Janów municipality in the Silesian province. The two reservoirs lie in a valley between Ponik and Sygontka, surrounded by forest and meadows. Besides their recreational role, the ponds also serve as a water intake point, which is why their banks remain largely natural.
An educational walking trail from Ponik leads to the ponds. The other option is the approach from Sygontka: follow the black hiking trail and turn into the first track on the right. Both routes are short and gentle, good for an afternoon walk without much effort.
The spot fits well into a tour of the upland — within a dozen or so kilometres lie Złoty Potok with the valleys of the Wiercica, limestone rock outcrops and a network of hiking and cycling trails. The corner itself is at its most picturesque early in the morning and at sunset.
