The New City Beach in Ełk was built in 2018 in the Jeziorna district, on Lake Ełckie, and counts among the best equipped in Masuria. The investment was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, which made it possible to create a whole recreational complex rather than a bathing area alone.
There are sandy and grassy beaches, three volleyball courts, two basketball courts and a jetty topped with a viewing tower. Equipment can be hired on the spot and the courts remain open to all. Sanitary facilities and parking for cars and bicycles are provided, and a campsite operates right next door.
A place for a full day with children: a gentle entry into the water, plenty of space on the grassy part and sport right next to the blankets. In the holiday season bathing takes place in a designated area under lifeguard supervision. The beach adjoins the paths around the lake, so it combines easily with a walk or a bike ride.
