Obwodnica 8, Tarnowskie Góry
The Water Park in Tarnowskie Góry is a large sports and recreation complex on Obwodnica Street, at the northern edge of the Silesian conurbation. It combines an extensive pool area with sports facilities, and its interiors are arranged in a tropical style. The venue is open all year and is linked to the town centre by a bus line.
Besides the swimming pools there is a paddling pool for toddlers, a wave pool, a rapid river, water slides and an outdoor pool. The wellness zone comprises a jacuzzi, a brine bath, a salt cave and Finnish and Danish saunas. Water classes are held regularly, including gymnastics designed for seniors.
The competition pool with spectator stands hosts swimming events and training sessions, while the neighbouring sports hall houses courts, a climbing wall, a squash court, a skate park and a gym. A sports shop, a restaurant and a café operate on site, and a hotel stands next to the complex. It makes a good destination on a rainy day while exploring Tarnowskie Góry and its historic mines.
