A botanical garden in Koryciny

The Podlasie Herb Garden in Koryciny is part of Ziołowy Zakątek, a complex set among forests in Siemiatycze county. It was founded in 2007 and has held the status of a registered botanical garden since 2011. Around 1,500 plant taxa grow here, including 85 species under strict protection.

Plant collections

The plantings are arranged into systematic collections, according to botanical family and habitat requirements. Medicinal and aromatic plants prevail, but there are also culinary and poisonous species, each with a description. A separate section is the Biblical Garden, gathering plants mentioned in the Scriptures.

For families and visitors

Children will find a playground with a wooden tree house, while the Nature Education Centre runs classes and workshops. On a small mound covered with herbs a viewpoint offers a look over the surrounding fields and forests. A walk along the paths takes about an hour, and the garden looks best from late spring to early autumn.
