Draisines on railway line 103

The Local Draisine Railway operates in Regulice in the Chrzanów district, on a historic section of railway line 103. Visitors ride it on four-person pedal draisines powered by leg muscles alone — the vehicle only moves once the crew starts pedalling. It is one of very few attractions of this kind in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.

The route and its surroundings

Two route variants of different lengths are available, matched to the fitness of the participants. The tracks run through rolling, partly wooded country with numerous springs and hills that open up views of the nearby villages. Along the way you can stop and visit the church of St Lawrence, an old lime kiln and the melaphyre and diabase quarries — traces of the industrial past of this part of Lesser Poland.

Who it suits

The ride works well for families with children and for groups: the crew sets its own pace and stops are entirely up to them. Access from the A4 motorway via the Rudno junction towards Regulice. The draisines run in season, with a slot booked in advance.
