A garden complex near the Baltic coast

The Hortulus Themed Gardens lie in Dobrzyca in the Koszalin district, about eight kilometres from the Baltic shore. Across 5.5 hectares, 28 gardens have been laid out, each with its own style and arrangement — from rock and woodland gardens to water, English, Japanese and French ones.

What to see

The individual sections are linked by small bridges, ponds and water features, with sculptures and arbours set among the plantings. More than six thousand plant species and varieties grow here, so the grounds change from season to season: tulips, hyacinths and daffodils in spring, azaleas, rhododendrons and peonies in summer, and a colourful mosaic of leaves in autumn.

Visitors follow marked paths and need an hour or more, depending on their pace. The access road leads off national road 11 from Koszalin towards Kołobrzeg, and a free car park has been arranged in front of the entrance.
