Bulwar Filadelfijski, Toruń
Sightseeing cruises depart from the quay on Bulwar Filadelfijski, at the foot of Toruń's UNESCO-listed old town. The short trip on the Vistula shows the city from an angle no walk can offer: the compact defensive wall, the brick granaries and the cathedral's silhouette are all visible from the water in a single glance.
The route takes about forty minutes. From one side you see the panorama of the Old Town, from the other the wooded Kępa Bazarowa — an island covered with riparian forest, one of the last such fragments of the Vistula valley. The boat passes under a long road bridge and under a historic railway bridge. Two vessels are in service: the smaller Wiking, styled after a flat-bottomed Viking boat, and the larger Wanda with a bar on board.
Cruises run in season, repeatedly during the day; on some weekdays evening departures are organised, when the old town is floodlit. Boarding from the boulevard is gentle and accessible for pushchairs.
