A recreational pond in Choroszcz

Kominowe Bajoro is a small pond on the edge of Choroszcz, a dozen or so kilometres from Białystok. For years it was used mainly by anglers; after revitalisation the banks were tidied up and turned into a recreation area now popular with locals and visitors alike.

What is on site

A leisure complex has grown around the water: a playground, an outdoor gym, volleyball courts, shelters with tables and an unguarded beach. Swimming is prohibited and entering the water is entirely at your own risk, so the place works better as a picnic spot than as a bathing site.

The surroundings

Choroszcz lies at the gateway to the Narew National Park, so a stop by the pond combines easily with a walk or a bike ride across the riverside meadows. In the town itself, the Branicki palace and park complex is worth seeing.
