Active Move runs kayak and raft trips through the Dunajec Gorge from its base on Pienińska Street in Szczawnica. The gorge, cut between the limestone walls of the Pieniny National Park, counts among the most spectacular stretches of river in Poland. Unlike the traditional wooden-raft trip, where the visitor's role is limited to admiring the scenery, here you paddle yourself between the river's bends and past successive rock towers.
You can choose kayaks, valued by those who like more manoeuvrability, or rafts — stable and practically impossible to capsize, recommended for families with children. Participants without experience get a short introductory briefing, and an instructor accompanies them on the water. The current on this stretch is brisk but demands no technical skills.
Bring footwear that can get wet, a change of clothes, a towel and water on hot days. The trips run seasonally and depend on the water level in the river.
