Jarków 11, Wieś Jarków
The Japanese Garden in Jarków lies in the Lewin Kłodzki commune in Lower Silesia, on a slope falling towards the valley. It covers about a thousand square metres and is the work of a private owner who began creating it in 1980. It was opened to visitors in 2003 as the second garden of its kind in Poland.
The layout is based on classic elements of a Japanese garden: cascades, small ponds, stone arrangements and shaped greenery, fitted into the natural slopes of the terrain. The planting was chosen so that the garden changes with the seasons — blossom in spring, colouring leaves in autumn. Visitors walk narrow paths at an unhurried pace.
Jarków lies close to Kudowa-Zdrój and Duszniki-Zdrój, at the foot of the Stołowe Mountains. The garden combines well in a single day with the trails to Szczeliniec Wielki or Błędne Skały, as the quieter part of the programme.
