Obrocz 120, Wieś Obrocz
The Wieprz and the Tanew are the two rivers most often chosen for paddling in Roztocze. Both flow calmly and without difficult obstacles, which makes them suitable for beginners and for families with children. The rental base lies in Obrocz near Zwierzyniec, at the gateway to the Roztocze National Park.
Trips on the Wieprz usually begin in Obrocz and finish in Szczebrzeszyn. The river winds in numerous meanders through meadows and woodland, requires no portaging, and the section can be covered in a single day. This is the option recommended for beginners and organised groups.
The Tanew offers far longer trails, divided into stages; in total more than 80 km can be paddled. On longer expeditions paddlers stay overnight at riverside campsites, landing stages or farm guesthouses. Rental companies deliver the kayaks to the start and collect them at the finish.
