Wieś Janowice
The Janowice reservoir lies in the buffer zone of the Kazimierz Landscape Park, directly adjoining a Natura 2000 site, a few kilometres from Janowiec. The body of water covering about 14 hectares was built for water retention and gained a recreational role after redevelopment.
On one of the banks a supervised bathing area with a wide sandy beach has been arranged, open during the summer season. Next to it there is water equipment rental — kayaks and pedal boats — as well as a beach volleyball court and a playground for children. A separate fishing spot has been set aside for anglers. A small food outlet operates on site.
Nearby a ferry crosses the Vistula on the Janowiec – Kazimierz Dolny route, carrying passengers together with their cars, which makes it easy to combine a stay by the reservoir with visiting both towns. The reservoir lies on a cycle route, and the walk from Janowice takes about half an hour.
