ul. Sułowska, Milicz
The Barycz flows through the country's largest complex of fish ponds and is considered one of Poland's laziest rivers — its gradient is just 0.035%. The calm current and completely flat terrain mean the trip requires neither skill nor strength. Kayak rentals operate in Milicz, on Sułowska Street.
The routes follow several-kilometre stretches of the Barycz as well as the Młynówka Milicka and Młynówka Sułowska millraces, through the Barycz Valley Landscape Park. From the kayak you look out over reed beds, wet meadows and overgrown banks, and beaver signs — gnawed branches and felled trunks — appear on almost every stretch.
This is an option for beginners and families with children; the full route takes a few hours. Wooded banks provide shade, so the trip is bearable even on hot days. Agree the date and the section with the operator before you set off.
