Cruises on the Smętek boat are a way of getting to know the area around Pisz from the water. The pier lies in the town centre on the Pisa River, between the Nad Pisą hotel and the Złota Łania restaurant — a walk of a few minutes from the market square. The trip begins on the river, after which the boat sails out onto Lake Roś, one of the larger bodies of water in eastern Masuria.

The route and the views

Roś consists of three almost parallel troughs joined by gentle bends, so the landscape keeps changing during the cruise: narrow, overgrown stretches open into wide expanses with a clear horizon. From the deck you get a good look at shores covered with reeds and forest and, with a little luck, at the water birds that are plentiful here.

Because the Pisa does not freeze, trips are possible almost all year round, but the timetable and frequency depend on the season and the weather — it is worth confirming them before arriving.
