The Bieszczady Sea

Lake Solina is the largest artificial reservoir in Poland, known as the Bieszczady Sea. It was created by the dam at Solina, covers about 22 km² and has 120 km of shoreline. Boat cruises are among the most popular ways of seeing the water and the forested hills around it.

Cruise routes

Boats depart from the marina in Polańczyk on the western shore. The one-hour trip follows an arm of the San river, passes Wyspa Zajęcza, heads towards the dam at Solina, skirts the Dead Forest and circles Wyspa Skalista. Longer trips of several hours also take in Victorini Bay, the Hanged Man's Tree and Czarna Bay; the route can be arranged with the operator.

Access and surroundings

Polańczyk lies in the Podkarpackie province, in the Lesko district. Coming from Sanok, head for Lesko and then take road 894. The village is a spa resort and a base for trips into the Bieszczady, with several viewpoints over the lake.
