A lake between two castles

Lake Leśniańskie is a reservoir on the Kwisa river, created in 1905 when the river was dammed at the village of Czocha above Leśna. It covers about 140 hectares. Czocha Castle stands on the high left bank, Rajsko Castle on the right, giving the water an unusual setting.

The boat trip

In the summer season motorboats take visitors out on the water. The trip lasts about forty minutes and runs towards the Leśna dam and the collapsed bridge at Bożkowice. Seen from the deck, Czocha Castle looks different than from the road — from the lake it appears monumental. Dense vegetation covers the banks along the way.

The landing and access

The landing lies below the castle's lower courtyard, reached by a path and steps from the castle. Tickets are sold next to the castle gate or on the boats. Access is from Leśna or Gryfów Śląski, in the Lubań district of Lower Silesia.
