Kolejowa 17, Wieś Białowieża
The Białowieski Express is a road tourist train made up of a locomotive-shaped tractor and a carriage, running through Białowieża in Podlasie. It carries about thirty passengers at a time and a guide talks about the history of the village and the nature of the forest. It is a comfortable way to see the village without hours of walking.
The first route covers Białowieża and the neighbouring villages of Podolany I and Podolany II, passing local monuments and wooden architecture. The second extends it and additionally enters the Białowieża Forest. The shorter version takes about an hour and ten minutes, the longer one twenty minutes more.
The train leaves from the car park by the PTTK tourist office on Kolejowa street. Białowieża is about four hours' drive from Warsaw, via Sokołów Podlaski and Bielsk Podlaski or via Zambrów.
