Malinka 8, Wisła
The Cieńków cable car carries visitors from Wisła Malinka up to Cieńków Niżni — a summit in the Cieńków ridge that separates the valley of the Biała Wisełka from the Malinka valley. It is one of the most convenient ways of reaching a ridge in the Silesian Beskids without a long climb, which is why the lift is popular in winter and in summer alike.
The modern lift is about a kilometre long, equipped with four-person chairs, and can carry up to 2,200 people an hour, which keeps queues short even at peak times. At the upper station there is a viewpoint with a panorama of Wisła and the surrounding ridges, along with a refreshment point where you can rest before walking on.
Several comfortable routes fan out from Cieńków Niżni. The popular Cieńków Loop follows a scenic path along the Malinka stream and lets you see the Adam Małysz ski jump on the way. A yellow-marked trail also runs across Cieńków towards Barania Góra — the best-known summit in the area, offering a wide panorama of the Silesian Beskids.
The lower station lies on road no. 942 towards Szczyrk and Bielsko, about a kilometre beyond the ski jump. A car park is located roughly 200 metres from the lift, within easy walking distance. In winter Cieńków works mainly as a ski resort, in summer as a starting point for walking and cycling trips, and the operating hours and the range of tickets change with the season.
