Wojsławice 2, Niemcza
Wojsławice Arboretum lies about 55 km from Wrocław, along the road towards Kłodzko, within the Niemcza municipality in Lower Silesia. The garden belongs to the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław and plays a double role: a collection open to visitors and a base for research on trees and shrubs.
More than 8,000 plant species and varieties grow across thirty hectares. The arboretum is famous for its rhododendrons, daylilies and box plants. Its setting in the Strzelin-Niemcza Hills opens wide views — in good weather the Sudeten Foreland, the Owl Mountains and the Karkonosze range are visible.
Two routes are marked out: a shorter one taking one to two hours and a longer one taking three to four, although visitors are free to explore at their own pace. Besides the plants there is a farmstead with a forge, the gardener’s house and a greenhouse. Children have a playground and an outdoor game, and one route is adapted for wheelchair users.
