A town park in the centre of Zakopane

Dolna Rówień Krupowa Park occupies a broad, flat space right in the middle of Zakopane, next to Krupówki and the streets 3 Maja, Sienkiewicza and Witkiewicza. Rówień Krupowa is a former shepherds' meadow, now protected and serving as the town's main park. Because of its open ground and views it is often called the Zakopane Błonia, or the Central Park of Podhale.

Views and installations

The greatest asset here is the panorama: from the meadow you can see Giewont, the ridge of the Western Tatras and the hill of Gubałówka. Art installations stand in the grounds, among them the seven-metre sculpture Orbita and the three-dimensional “Zakopane” sign, where queues form for photographs. The paths are surfaced and lead across grassy clearings.

For families

Children will find a well-equipped playground with tunnels, playhouses, slides and swings, and in summer a funfair operates alongside. Entry to the park is free, dogs are allowed, and the flat paths are comfortable for pushchairs. It is a good place for a break between a hike in the Tatras and a walk along Krupówki.
