Green lungs of the conurbation

Park Śląski covers around 535 hectares where Chorzów, Katowice and Siemianowice Śląskie meet. It was created on post-industrial wasteland and today ranks among the largest urban parks in Europe. Its sheer size means that a single walk covers only a fragment of the whole layout.

What to see

Several independent attractions operate inside the park: a zoo, the Silesian Planetarium, the Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park with its historic wooden architecture, and an amusement park. The Elka cable car runs above the alleys and shows the whole area from above. Beyond that, the park is a web of walking and cycling paths, ponds and wide lawns.

Good to know

Entry to the park itself is free; the individual attractions on its grounds charge admission. The park has several entrances and large car parks placed around its edges. Concerts, open-air events and regular festivals are held here throughout the year.
