Kazimierz Górniczy, ul. Jasieńskiego, Sosnowiec
Kuroń Park lies in the Kazimierz Górniczy district of Sosnowiec and serves as the main recreational area of this part of the city. It combines parkland greenery, a playground, sports facilities and a small zoo.
The mini zoo is home to kangaroos, emus, llamas, donkeys, fallow deer, roe deer and peacocks, and feeding the animals is allowed under rules set by the keepers. Next to it is an extensive playground with swings and slides, while skaters and skateboarders have a separate zone.
Walking and cycling paths run through the park. The most natural stretch surrounds the Leśna pond, where trees typical of riparian and oak-hornbeam woods grow. Look out for amphibians and birds, among them wood pigeons.
