The castle park in Krasiczyn surrounds a Renaissance residence about 10 km west of Przemyśl, in the San valley. The layout has its roots in the 16th century, when the Krasicki family castle was being built; over the following centuries the park was extended by later owners, among them the Sapieha family.
More than two hundred species of trees and shrubs grow here, both native and brought from other climate zones. The stand survived the wars without major losses, which is why the park counts among the dendrologically most valuable in south-eastern Poland. A curiosity of its own are the trees planted to mark the birth of each Sapieha child — under some of them stone plaques with names have survived.
The old, tall trees shelter numerous breeding birds: chaffinches, robins, blackcaps, starlings and goldfinches. A walk through the park combines naturally with a tour of the castle itself.
