The green heart of Skawina

The Marshal Józef Piłsudski Municipal Park lies in the centre of Skawina, a dozen or so kilometres south-west of Cracow. It is the town's principal recreational space and the venue for its largest open-air events, headed by the Skawina Days festival.

What to see

The park has a landscape character: veteran trees grow here, including an oak protected as a natural monument, and the grounds are bordered by the picturesque oxbow of the Skawinka river. The 1906 mansion of the „Sokół” Gymnastic Society, now home to the Culture and Sports Centre, draws particular attention.

Who it suits

An asphalt skating and running loop makes the park popular with cyclists, runners and roller skaters. Children have playgrounds, a rope pyramid and a small climbing wall, while adults can use the tennis court and the outdoor gym. Admission is free, the grounds are pram-friendly and dogs are welcome.
