Arkadia Park lies a few kilometres south-east of Łowicz in the Łódź Province, by the road linking Łowicz with Nieborów. It was laid out in 1778 by Princess Helena Radziwiłłowa, who followed the English garden fashion of the day. Instead of clipped hedges there are loose clumps of trees, ponds, islets and winding paths that reveal one view after another.
The heart of the grounds is the Temple of Diana above the water, with the Aqueduct, the Gothic House and the houses of the High Priest and the Burgrave nearby. Sculptures and casts inspired by antiquity stand among the greenery — the head of Niobe, the sleeping Ariadne, Roman busts. A curiosity are the stone „babas” from Podolia, Cuman statues from the 12th–13th centuries brought here by the founder.
A quiet destination for an hour's walk, also good with children and dogs; most of the paths are level. The park forms a whole with the nearby palace in Nieborów and both are best visited on the same day.
