A woodland park in the heart of Zagłębie

Zielona Park stretches over some 67 hectares in Dąbrowa Górnicza, on Letnia Street, between the built-up town and a chain of post-mining lakes. It is a rare place in this part of Silesia where a tended municipal park merges seamlessly into old-growth woodland. The sheer size of the grounds means quiet corners are easy to find even at weekends.

What to see

Wide surfaced paths run through the park for walkers, runners and cyclists. There is a fountain, a pond with a jetty, shelters and a large colourful playground. The greatest natural interest lies in the old trees — substantial oaks and birches whose crowns host robins, chaffinches, great tits and thrushes.

The surroundings

Lake Pogoria III, a popular bathing spot and cycling destination, lies close by. A walking or cycling route can easily be planned to combine both places in a single afternoon.
