ul. Botaniczna 21, Wieś Gołubie
The Gołubie Botanical Garden lies in the village of Gołubie in the Kartuzy district, in the heart of Kashubian Switzerland. It grew out of a private ornamental garden and today works as a collection and education facility, supervised by botanists from the University of Gdańsk.
The collections are divided into an ecological section with a natural meadow, a section of ornamental plants and an arboretum with specimen trees and shrubs. Visits follow marked paths between the beds, and the quiet, intimate character sets the place apart from large gardens attached to universities.
The garden runs ecology classes for school groups, students and adults, and guided tours are possible. The site is mostly flat and accessible with a pushchair. Given the nature of the collection it operates seasonally — outside the growing season there is noticeably less to see.
