John Paul II Park lies in the Wilda district of Poznań, on Dolna Wilda street, close to the city centre. It is a large recreational area used both by residents of the surrounding housing estates and by tourists looking for a break between sightseeing stops.
The patron is linked to John Paul II's visit to Poznań and the mass celebrated on this very ground. A Papal Cross now stands where the field altar was. The park also holds the Pyra monument, referring to the Greater Poland potato tradition, and the former Wilda power station, today used for exhibitions and services.
The alleys suit walking, cycling, roller skating and skateboarding. Children have a well-equipped playground, and picnic lovers will find spots to rest on the grass. The ground is flat and well surfaced, so it also works for visitors with a pushchair.
