The rocket range at Blizna

The Historical Park in Blizna was created on the site where German forces tested V1 and V2 missiles during the Second World War. It lies in the Ostrów commune in the Podkarpackie province, about 40 km from Rzeszów, among forests and fields.

What to see

The grounds preserve the missile testing points, range barracks that served as support facilities, and the remains of fortifications and defensive works. A full-scale model of a V1 missile stands at the centre. The exhibition covers the wartime history of the area and the figure of Aleksander “Olek” Rusin.

Who it suits

This is a stop for those interested in military history and the Second World War, but the clearly laid out trail also makes it work for a visit with children. Sightseeing takes place mainly in the open air, so it is worth choosing the weather.
