Podgórna 7, Gniezno
Dolina Pojednania is a park in the very centre of Gniezno, in the hollow between Panieńskie Hill with the Market Square and St John's Hill. It was laid out in a natural valley, so the greenery adjoins the historic part of the city directly.
A pond lies in the lower part of the park, while the slopes have been used for viewpoints overlooking the roofs of the old town. Flights of steps handle the differences in level, leading among others towards the centre. Oaks planted by the prime ministers of Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary as a sign of reconciliation between nations grow here.
The name of the park refers to that very idea, recalled on the anniversary of the Congress of Gniezno. Entrances lead from Podgórna, św. Wojciecha and Grzybowo streets, so the park is easy to include in a city walk — going round it takes about twenty minutes. For residents it serves daily as a shortcut and a recreation area.
