The green heart of Kluczbork

The Municipal Park in Kluczbork covers 22.3 ha in the very centre of town and passes without a clear boundary into forest, so a short stroll can easily be stretched into a walk of several kilometres. Entrances lead in from Skłodowska-Curie, Katowicka, Strzelecka and Parkowa streets. The park was laid out in the basin of a drained former castle pond, and its layout is organised by a canal on the northern side and by the old and new beds of the Stobrawa river.

Trees and flowers

Alongside native species grow exotic specimens: the maidenhair tree, the katsura tree and the dawn redwood. In spring azaleas, rhododendrons, box and Japanese spiraea catch the eye, and from late spring into autumn a wildflower meadow blooms with cornflowers, ragged robin and poppies.

Who it suits

The park serves daily as ground for walking, running and cycling, with alleys comfortable also with a pushchair. It is a good stop to stretch your legs while travelling through the Opole region and a place for a longer break for families with children.
